SHA runs two Female Festivals per year. One in the Spring and one in the Fall. Females born in the years 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002 are eligible for this year’s Spring Festival. As part of our own commitment to continue growing female hockey in the province, the SHA will once again be running the SHA Female Hockey Festival. The Festival is open to all female hockey players born in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002. Each player attending the Female Festival will receive at least two skills/practice sessions, two scrimmage sessions, and an SHA Female Festival jersey. We will also have goalie instructors on the ice sessions to work with the goalies in the skills sessions, etc. This year we will be holding the Female Spring Festival on April 21st and 22nd in Aberdeen, Saskatchewan and a Female Fall Festival in September, 2012 (date and location yet to be determined). To help cover the cost of the Spring and Fall Festivals, participants are required to pay a $100.00 registration fee. Please click below for the online registration and also be sure to send in a copy of the Medical Form to the office. View the Schedule for the Spring camp HERE! The goal of this program is to help develop our young female hockey players and provide a quality environment to become a better hockey player. The objective for the program is to promote the female game and provide options for female hockey in our province. Each player receives a jersey, 2 skills sessions, 2 scrimmages and a chance to meet other female players and create new friendships with other female hockey players who are playing around the province. This environment is similar to that of our Zone Camps which these females will have a chance in attending when they enter first year Bantam. These players also have a chance to be coached by coaches they don't see year after year and to look up to coaches who have played hockey in the province both in their minor and university hockey careers. The weekend will also provide the girls an opportunity to watch the Under 18 Female Team Saskatchewan as they prepare for the Women's U18 National Championships. This weekend challenges the players to new on-ice skills and brings their hockey game to a new level. But most of all this is a fun weekend for players to experience no pressure and just to play the game they love to play. For more information on this event, contact:
